Cars Galore Team BRM driver Will Brown has won the 2016 CAMS Jayco Australian Formula 4 Championship.
“It sounds really good!” Brown said.
With one F4 race to go on the streets of the Gold Coast tomorrow, (Sunday) Brown secured the title today by claiming a 4th place in race 2 of 3.
18 year old Brown from Toowoomba in Queensland now has enough points to claim victory in the series and will be elected the 2016 CAMS Jayco Australian F4 champion tomorrow.
“We were hoping it didn’t go down to the last race and we could wrap it up today.
“To become the CAMS Jayco Australian Formula 4 Champion is great. We’re looking forward to the next race tomorrow and hopefully have a bit of fun!”
Brown will be awarded his Australian Championship on Sunday evening’s Formula 4 Awards Dinner, and will be invited to attend the FIA Prize-Giving evening in Vienna to collect his FIA Championship trophy this December.
As champion, Brown will also receive an F3 European Test with Carlin Motorsport.
Race Three, 11 laps, for the CAMS Jayco Australian Formula 4 Championship will start at 9:00am AEST live on Fox Sports (506) and also broadcast on Network Ten and WIN TV this weekend.
