WILL INCHES CLOSER TO TOYOTA 86 TITLE WITH POLE AND WIN AT HOMEBSUH

Cars Galore driver Will Brown has edged ever closer to claiming the inaugural2016 Australian Toyota 86 Series Championship, after taking pole position in qualifying and then the win in Race 1 at Sydney's Homebush circuit.

Brown held his nerve on the demanding and intimidating street circuit to cross the line first, ahead of Cameron Hill, Trent Grubel and the current 2016 Bathurst 1000 V8 Supercar winning driver, Jonathon Webb, in a 32 car field.

Brown is the current championship points leader and victories during race 2 and 3 on Sunday will see him take out the 2016 title.

This weekend also sees Will sporting a brand new livery from his usual all silver car.

The championship would add to an incredible year for Brown who has already claimed the 2016 CAMS Jayco Australian Formula 4 Championship and finished second in the Australian Formula Ford championship, only last week.

At 18 years of age, in clinching the Toyota 86 title, Brown would become only the 5th person to ever win 2 national Australian road racing championships in the same year.

Race 2 and 3 will continue tomorrow as part of the Coates Hire Sydney 500 Supercars event. Further information can be found at: http://www.supercars.com/sydney/
