Eggleston Motorsport driver Will Brown has walked away unassisted from a heavy crash during Race 2 of Round 3 in the Dunlop Super 2 series at Townsville.

The race was suspended following the major incident on the sixth lap after Brown hit the wall at the exit of turn 3, leaving Josh Kean no opportunity but to collide with the Commodore.

Brown’s car then bounced onto the racing line, clipping Mason Barbera before Jake Kostecki, Nathan Morcom and Andrew Jones could not avoid Kean and piled into the back of Kean.

Brodie Kostecki also stopped on track with the incident while Jack Smith managed to avoid the other cars.

The race restarted on lap 11, but not before Paul Dumbrell was spun around by Jack Le Brocq who was in the middle of a concertina impact on the final corner as Hazelwood led the field through the restart.

Todd Hazelwood capped off the weekend by securing back-to-back Dunlop Super2 Series race wins.

Defending champion Garry Jacobson was knocked out of contention early in the race after he was forced to pit with damage.
