July, 2016 -
Cars Galore Team BRM CAMS Jayco Australian Formula 4 Championship leader Will Brown has fought back to win a scintillating Race Two at Sydney Motorsport Park.
The Race 2 victory, and decisive haul of points from a successful Sydney weekend, now sees Brown make a strong claim on the 2016 Australian F4 Championship.
With 156 championship points, Brown moves to a 21 point lead over second place contender Nick Rowe.
Team BRM’s Jordan Love has dropped to third in the standings with 125 championship points.
“Overall, It was a good weekend,” Brown said.
“We got a first, fourth and fifth place finish. Bit challenging, the boys worked hard at the car but we’ll look forward to the next round.”
The win in Race 2 was hard fought. Trading blows with British F4 winner Luis Leeds for the lead of the race on multiple occasions in the first half of the 12 lap race, Brown eventually crossed the line ahead of yesterday’s U Race It Pole Position and Race One winner Nick Rowe.
“Pretty excited to greab the win after yesterday" Brown said. "we didn’t go that great yesterday but yeah good today".
Round Four of the CAMS Jayco Australian Formula 4 Championship next heads to Queensland Raceway as a support event to the Virgin Australia Supercars Championship on July 22–24.
